What is the WatchTower?

Watchtower is a chrome extension that when configured, can show your teams what experiments are running on the website as they browse it in real-time.

How does it work?

Watchtower is configured to run in tandem with your workflow in Effective Experiments. Through basic configuration, you can map out your websites page to your setup in Effective Experiments. Your live experiments will show up in the chrome extension when a user is on the page that matches your configuration.

Do I need an Effective Experiments account?

Yes. In order for Watchtower to work, you need an Effective Experiments account to configure it. The data is synced with Effective Experiments. Users of the chrome extension don't need an Effective Experiments account and can see the live experiments based on the configuration within Effective Experiments.

Can I use this across multiple websites?

Users without an Effective Experiments log in using an access token can only track experiments on a single website. Users with log in access to Effective Experiments will be able to use this across multiple website, if it’s configured like this.

Is this supported on all browsers?

Watchtower is currently only compatible with Google Chrome. More browsers might be added in the future

Can I use this on any website I want?

Watchtower is exclusively configured to be synced with the Effective Experiments workflow and as such, can’t be used on any random website. Only websites that are configured on Effective Experiments, will work with Watchtower.
